Introduction
Form finding in a classical sense tries to find a shape of equilibrium of forces in a given boundary w.r.t. a certain stress state. For form finding of membrane structures several methodes are developed in the past. In the sections below a brief introduction into the field and difficulties of form finding will be given. Subsequent to the discussion of the mechanical problem of form finding an introduction of the usage of CARAT++ to solve the form finding-problem will be given.
Single Aspects in Detail
The single components of a form finding problem are described here:
- Statical Problem of Form Finding
- Numerical Methods for Form Finding
- Discussion of the Prestress State
