If you have a Carat++ executable and a valid license, you can easily run the program:

Run Carat++ via Shell or Command Line

  1. start the shell (in case of Linux) or the command line (in case of Windows):
    • Hint for Windows 7: Go to "Start"(Windows Icon), type "cmd" in the search window, press "Enter".
  2. browse to directory of your input file
  3. start Carat++:
    • on Windows: "CARAT_EXE_PATH\Carat2.0.exe INPUT_FILE_NAME.DAT" (CARAT_EXE_PATH stands for the path to the Carat++ executable, INPUT_FILE_NAME.DAT is a placeholder for the input file name)
    • on Linux: user@machine:~/INPUT_FILE_DIRECTRORY> CARAT_EXE_PATH/carat20.exe INPUT_FILE_NAME.DAT
      if CARAT_EXE_PATH is exported in .bashrc (export PATH=CARAT_EXE_PATH:$PATH) it can be omitted in the input line
